Excursion destinations and sights in the Bavarian Forest
Small adventures – big moments!
Escape everyday life and enter the adventure land of the Bavarian Forest. Children and adults alike can expect a wealth of excursion destinations and sights on holiday in the Bavarian Forest.
Of course, we at Euler always have tips and ideas on how you can spend your holiday. Afterwards, the choice is yours: enjoy yourself at the main hotel, take a sauna at the nature hotel or relax in your own Woidhaisl chalet at sunset.
Discover the Bavarian Forest from lofty heights! Located right in Neuschönau, you can experience a real adrenaline rush along the 1.3 km trail.
In addition to the numerous bridges and balance beams, the forest island with its relaxation area, loungers and educational stations is the new highlight. The treetop path is even open in winter.
Have you heard of this unique Western town? Here, authentic American history is still alive. You should definitely plan a trip there.
An attractive show programme, stunt shows, knife throwers, rides on a quarter horse or a romantic evening around the campfire make this trip back to the good old days of cowboys and Indians an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
Come along on a fictional adventure in the 3D cinema and discover interesting facts about fauna and flora in the interactive exhibition.
The visitor centre is located in the Falkenstein National Park Centre and offers an excursion into the world of wilderness through the ‘root walk’ as well as special activities for children. The House of Wilderness is a great experience for the whole family!
You will have lots of fun visiting the animal enclosure between Neu- and Altschönau in the Bavarian Forest National Park. Aviaries and large enclosures offer the animals that live there plenty of space, while still allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of the world of wild animals.
Wolves, bears, deer, wild boars, eagle owls and many other animals native to the region live on 200 hectares of land. The animal enclosure is also a popular destination in winter for all animal lovers and interested animal enthusiasts.
A visit to the Finsterau Open Air Museum takes you on a journey into the past. Have you always been interested in what country life was like in the old days? How farmers worked and what it meant to survive as a farmer without technology?
Then this is the place for you. In addition to numerous farms, there is a village smithy, a chapel and, of course, a tavern.
Traditional festivals and farmers' markets allow you to immerse yourself in the real life of days gone by. The museum is a popular destination all year round.
Eisch glassworks
Eisch Glasensium
The Eisch glassworks in the Bavarian Forest looks back on over 300 years of glassblowing tradition.
A tour of the factory in Frauenau provides an insight into the art of glassblowing. On Wednesdays, you can try your hand at being an artist yourself and you are sure to find a lovely souvenir for your loved ones back home.
The Poschinger glassworks, the Frauenau Glass Museum and the Schmid glassblowing workshop are further destinations for excursions to learn more about the art of glassblowing and its history.
Of course, we enjoy being active on holiday, going hiking, biking and golfing. But to be honest, a shopping trip or a city break are also very tempting. It's good that the Stadtgalerie Passau and the town of Grafenau are not far from Euler, so you can get your money's worth.
Strolling, browsing, shopping – perhaps at the Garhammer fashion store? All this is also part of a holiday in the Bavarian Forest. Of course, we at Euler are happy to provide information about events in the nearby towns and give you tips on where to find the most beautiful souvenirs and trendy fashion.
We hope you enjoy your holiday in Neuschönau!
